Perinatal Behavioral Health Coaching

As a dedicated perinatal behavioral health coach, I offer personalized support for birthing individuals and their families throughout the perinatal journey. My goal is to help prevent perinatal mood and anxiety disorders by guiding parents to understand each other’s needs, balance the mental and emotional load of parenting, and create actionable plans around sleep, nutrition, rest, connection, and education. I focus on reinforcing the bond between you and your baby, fostering secure attachments, and helping you navigate the transitions of parenthood—whether you’re first-time parents or growing your family.

I also provide support for couples during conception, infertility, or as they decide whether to have children or live a child-free life. As an ally to all family types, I prioritize understanding your unique culture and values to create a plan that truly honors and supports your journey.

Perinatal Behavioral Health Coaching vs. Perinatal Counseling

My perinatal behavioral health coaching focuses on helping parents achieve personal and family goals through practical strategies for balancing the mental and emotional load, enhancing connections, and fostering well-being during pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. Coaching is forward-focused, emphasizing goal-setting and self-care through sleep, nutrition, and emotional support plans. It’s designed for individuals who want guidance in managing the challenges of parenthood but are not experiencing diagnosable mental health issues.

In contrast, perinatal counseling involves addressing deeper emotional or mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, or trauma. It requires a licensed professional to diagnose and treat these concerns through therapy.

Please note that coaching clients cannot transition into counseling clients. If I believe you could benefit from counseling, I will refer you to a licensed counselor other than myself to ensure you get the care you need.
