Where?
I am a licensed counselor in Idaho, offering virtual counseling services solely to residents of the state. Additionally, as a nationwide perinatal behavioral health coach, I provide coaching for individuals and families from anywhere in the world.
Who?
I focus on perinatal mental health, trauma, grief, and vicarious trauma in my counseling services. My coaching also targets perinatal populations and involves working with the entire family. I am an ally to families of all backgrounds, and while my counseling and coaching are not religiously based, I am open to respecting and honoring my clients' belief systems.
Cost
I am in-network with most major insurances, including Medicaid for my counseling clients in Idaho. For those who are uninsured, I provide pay options on a sliding scale.
Please note that I only accept private pay for coaching services and do not offer superbills for insurance reimbursement, as coaching is not classified as medical care by insurance networks.

Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Coaching or Counseling?
Coaching and counseling differ primarily in their focus, approach, and scope, though both aim to support personal growth and well-being. Coaching is typically forward-looking and goal-oriented, helping individuals achieve specific personal or professional objectives such as improving health, relationships, or performance. It is suited for individuals who are generally well but seek guidance to reach their potential. In contrast, counseling is more past-focused, addressing emotional or psychological issues like trauma, anxiety, or depression. In counseling, I help individuals heal from past experiences and develop coping strategies for mental health concerns.
In terms of approach, coaching emphasizes motivation, accountability, and action planning, with coaches acting as guides to help clients overcome obstacles without delving deeply into emotional healing or mental health diagnosis. Counseling, on the other hand, involves therapeutic techniques like EMDR or emotionally focused individual therapy and is designed to address deeper emotional and mental health challenges.
As a coach I do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders, focusing instead on personal growth and development. Essentially, coaching is about goal achievement and personal development, while counseling focuses on healing and emotional support.
